The world we live in today, it is easy to create a false self, we see it on social media all the time. Many times we pretend to be fine, when asked how we are, when in reality we could be falling apart on the inside.
1 Samuel 16: 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. the Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
To live a life of pretence is hard work. You can fool most people for a time, but sooner or later the real person has to emerge. And pretending to be something you are not, does not fool God at all, He looks into the innermost part of our heart, and guess what, HE LOVES US ANYWAY. WE CANT GET AWAY FROM HIS LOVE.
We can safely talk to Him about our inadequacies and struggles, it doesn't faze Him one little bit. If we let Him, He will transform our weakness' and our inadequacies into strengths.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
There is a great sense of freedom that comes when we become real with God, ourselves and with others.
