My frustration overflowed again this morning when I was watching the 8 am news, where I heard that it is now recommended in Queensland that we wear masks when out and about.
Again, let me reiterate that what I rant about is my opinion, not my familie, my church or Daughters of the King Global.
My rant is not about having to wear a mask, but rather what is happening to our economy, because of Covid-19 and the ramifications that it is going to have in the long run, which is already being felt by many, but that is nothing compared to what is ahead if we don’t restart our economy.
At this point I want to say that I am not ignoring that the virus has taken many lives, especially, the elderly and I am not denying that it is contagious, and I am not denying that some people who have had Covid-19 take a long time to recover and some have complications as a result of it.
Think about this for a moment, there are so many illness’ that have terrible side effects and complications, chemo, radiation to mention a few. I know what you are thinking, “yes but those illness' are not contagious” no they are not, but my point is, 96% of Covid-19 patients recover, so is it worth shutting down our economy, indeed the worlds economy for a small minority who have some complication.
I believe the Economic collapse is more deadly than Covid-19 :-
· Crime will increase
· Suicides will increase (by the way those that suicide won’t be in their 70-90. No, they will be young people who have lost all hope and can see no future. Fathers who no longer know how they can feed their families and pay their debts.)
· Increase in abortion, because there is not enough money to feed another mouth.
· Increase in relationships breaking up because they simply can’t cope with the stress.
· Increase in domestic violence because of unemployment, debt etc.
· Increase in bankruptcy (which will affect many other business’ and the roll-on effect is endless.
They interviewed an economist on the news this morning and this is what he said. “The collapse of a world economy can and most likely will lead to famine in the future. He also said that down the track there will most likely be a shortage of Services.
This I believe could be managed by doing what Sweden has done. They kept their economy going, their schools open. They simply isolated the elderly and those who were at high risk because of health issues. And their life carries on as it always has. Not so for us, we are slowly losing more and more of our precious freedom. We are being given more and more “you must” “you must not”.
I am not trying to scare or put fear in anyone. Covid-19 did that in a week.
Let me finish my rant with the Word of God.
Psalm 27: 1-5 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord. All the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple. For He will hide me in His shelter in the day of trouble; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent; He will lift me high upon a rock.
